A game would go like this: one of us would pit two related but different subjects/situations against each other in an all-consuming hypothetical choice. There could be only one. It was up to whoever else was around to choose which one would be the winner. Hence, This. Or That.
Most of the time, commentary was limited to an agreeing tip of the glass or a simple "Nice," except for one This or That and the argument that ensued (and continues to this day) which will go down in ToT annals forever: The Clash or The Cure? Regardless of your opinion, you had to pick one and be prepared to defend it come hell or high water.
It was fun, and it passed the time. It's even been mentioned again recently which brings me to my point.
Dear readers, I face a dilemma. I have a choice to make. After prevaricating for weeks, I see no other option but to turn this over to you. Assume all relevant information is contained in the choice presented. Ask no questions. Simply choose.
Readers, there can be only one:
This

or
That
????

Hard choice but I'm gonna have to go with...THAT.
This was an extremely hard decision but, I second Ganymede! "That" is such a beautiful shoe! but "This" is an amazing color.
I vote this, but only because I'm not the hugest fan of patent leather. Otherwise, I prefer the brogue. but I just like the more casual feel of the blue suede shoe. So this. Yes, this.
should my vote count in the tally? i'm all about the BLUE SUEDE.
Just to clarify, the yellow shoe is not patent. It's a painted leather, with a little shine from the flash bulb.

I think Black Sheep summed it up best in "The Choice Is Yours" ...
THAT!!! the details are knockout.
I guess it depends on if the painted leather looks cheap in real life? My very first instinct was "this". But that is tough. I mean, that is a tough decision, not "that" is a tough shoe.
Ellen, I think any color leather is essentially painted.
Michael, I was looking at Florsheim for Duckie Brown for quite some time here and there - before I came to one conclusion. Coloring brogue oxfords like that is nothing more then a cheap trick. Footwear like that fools you at first by looking somewhat funky but yet still classic - but on a long run it belongs in the pimps closet. Lets keep classic manly footwear naturally beautiful.
Leather just like denim looks the best being itself. Call me boring - but to answer your question definitely not yellow. Blue. Your grandpa would pick blue ones too. ;)
P.S. "Back when I used to have friends" - that is so about me ;)
That! Yellow! Also, let's play this game in a park while drinking on swings.
THIS. TRUST.
Mike - in all seriousness: the blue suede shoes. If the yellow were patent (like Ms. Casares mentioned) then they'd have my vote. But, seeing as they are *not*, then my vote goes for *this*. Godspeed.
your guy friends were evidently classier than my girls. we played "who would you do". embarrassing. anyway. i choose this, but will still hang out with you if you choose that.
i have to say THIS. but i'm always more drawn to blues.
i wouldn't kick the "this" out of bed if you know what i mean. know what i mean?
Please tell me you went with the yellow...
