SOTW (cont.)

I really don't have much to tell you about this outfit. I just like it, a lot.

Lace detail:

I am going to be a mean, withholding person and tell you only that this dress cost $5 at a thrift store. I cannot share which one. I am sorry. It's small, and I have acquired a number of treasures there, but it's small. And I want to keep finding treasures. On this same day I got awesome shoes at a yard sale for also $5, which was pretty random (they were new, in-box, black patent "Keds" made by Liz Claiborne in the 90s). So what I'm saying is, random thrift finds happen, but only if you find a circuit of thrift stores and also leave the house and be willing to browse and be let down 85% of the time. It's a game of chance, yet I do not want to reduce my chances. So effed up. Chloe shoes from June boutique last summer.

Around 2 years ago I was watching an exact same pair of Chloe shoes on eBay as the ones you are wearing but I didn't win them. I love them, especially the cream/nude color. I can't believe that dress only cost you $5, insane! I wish I could find a thrift store like that where I live but all the ones here seem to be super expensive.

I was looking at this post in admiration trying to think of what to comment and my roommate walked by and she said, "Damn, that's beautiful." Ditto that.

Your dress is so beautiful! I can understand the secret vintage shops - it's a fashionista eat fashionista world out there!!

It would be cool if you could find something to wear under it that still showed your tattoo off, without you actually being naked... erm, dunno what tho. I just think it would be a cool clash.

Really loving your outfit posts.

you people are too nice. hugs all around!

and charlotte, i think there are a lot more interesting ways to layer with this dress. when i tried it on i was wearing black tights and flats, and that pleased me as well. perhaps i shall try a very low-cut camisole underneath, per your suggestion?

In my opinion, it is not withholding at all to not reveal where exactly you shop if we are talking about thrifting. Sometimes I think people who don't thrift or second hand most of their stuff don't realize that it has nothing to do with regular shopping. It is a hunt type feeling that makes you want to go, and so any equally determined person has just as many resources as you to find good thrift circuits, no? It is not like going into the mall or boutique where you can say "Today I want black pants". Anyways, beyond that rant,
what a cute outfit! I love the shoes and sock combo especially. I have a hard time knowing how to layer UNDER dresses, as I also have one equally as see through that I want to wear but can't figure out how.

That dress is insane. ly pretty! I'm with you about keeping quiet...only I don't. I discovered a small nearby town where there were tons of cool stuff for cheap. What'd I do? Blab about it? And now I see less and less of those good finds. Moral of the story. Loose lips sink ships (of thrfits).

ps: found you via Calivintage. Glad I did.

I HAVE that SAME dress!!! I was shocked to see it linked to from another blog. I found mine a few months ago in a used clothing store. Thought it was the only one in the world but I guess we're twinsies.
